Privacy Policy

This page explains how ELC English Language Center handles the personal information you share with us through this website: enquiries, quotes, bookings and payments.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry, build a quote or book a place, we collect the details you enter: the parent or guardian's name, email, phone and, for a booking, the billing address; the student's first name and age; the course, dates and options you choose; and any message you add. For a booking we also record when you accepted our Terms and Conditions.

Students under 18

Our programs are for students aged 11 to 17, so a parent or guardian completes the quote and booking forms. We ask only for the minimum student details a parent provides to place the student in the right course and program: first name, last name and date of birth. We ask for the date of birth so we can confirm the student will be within the course age range on their arrival date, and because ELC keeps it with the student's enrolment record. Please do not send sensitive information, such as health or passport details, through the website forms. We ask for what we need securely before the program.

How we use it

We use your details to answer your enquiry, prepare your quote, manage your booking, arrange the program and contact you about it. We do not use your details for marketing unless you opt in, and we do not sell your information.

Payments

Card payments are handled by Stripe on Stripe's secure payment page. ELC's website never collects or stores card details. We pass your email address and booking reference to the Stripe page so your payment is matched to your booking. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the details you give Stripe.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used, so we can improve it. Neither loads until you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you click Reject, or close the page without choosing, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google or Microsoft.

Your choice is stored in a first-party cookie named elc_consent for one year. To change it, clear that cookie in your browser and the banner will appear again on your next visit. Google's privacy policy and Microsoft's privacy statement cover what they do with the data they receive.

Security checks

To protect our forms from spam, we use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a bot, is sending the form. We record the IP address of each submission to limit repeated submissions.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries and quotes that do not become bookings: 24 months.
• Bookings and student records: 7 years after the program ends, for accounting and tax purposes.
• Your acceptance of the Terms and Conditions is kept with its booking, for the same period.
• Server and security logs: 30 days.
• Your cookie choice (elc_consent): 1 year, in your own browser.

These are ELC's standard practice. You can ask us to change them for your own records, and we will do so where the law allows.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that run the website and our booking process: Cloudflare (website hosting and storage), Stripe (payments) and our email delivery provider, and the ELC staff who manage your booking. If you accept analytics cookies, Google and Microsoft also receive site usage data, as described above.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, update or delete the information you have shared at any time. Contact us and we will act on your request, unless we must keep a record for legal or accounting reasons.
