Our annual Prom was held last Friday, and it was full of glitz and glamour. With Great Gatsby being our theme, many of our students dressed up in fancy dresses and suit jackets. As students entered the room, they were encouraged to take pictures and vote for the 2014 ELC Prom King and Queen. On the dance floor students even volunteered their own phones and became the DJ for the night, and played Arabic music at times too. Halfway through Prom, teacher Amy announced the Prom King and Queen…Simon Mittler & Nicole Waelchli! The two students were presented with their crowns, sash, and a gift card sponsored by American Host Tours. After they gave a mini speech, all of our students watched as the King and Queen danced to “Dancing Queen” by ABBA, and the night resumed to more dancing and socializing afterwards.
Simon said, “Prom was really fun – I enjoyed being able to get together with all of the students. I was lucky to be here for Prom!”
