As part of our continuing community outreach efforts, English Language Center Los Angeles has partnered with the Karsh Center at Wilshire Boulevard Temple in Koreatown to provide English lessons to members of the Los Angeles immigrant community!
The Karsh Center has been endeavoring since 2014 to provide assistance to those in need at no or very low cost. The Karsh Center’s offerings primary comprise dental and vision care, pro bono legal services, a food pantry, and support groups for people experiencing loss and trauma.
ELC offers both a Beginner and an Intermediate course to students looking to improve their grammar, communication skills, and pronunciation. Jonathan is the Housing Coordinator at the ELC Los Angeles main campus but has taught for many years in the past in both Spain and Los Angeles. He provides interesting and engaging lessons focusing primarily on everyday usage. Jonathan has found it to be a very rewarding experience to work with such a diverse population. He appreciates the opportunity to help enrich the students’ knowledge and command of English while getting to know the students and learning about their unique cultures. We are grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community through this partnership!
