Ellyn Levine, the ELC president, and LA Assistant Director, Vanessa, sold baked goods to raise money for ELC’s Haiti Relief Fundraiser.
ELC Los Angeles decided to have a bake sale on Friday to raise money for the International Rescue Committee and their efforts in Haiti. Students, teachers and staff baked food to sell, including cupcakes, brownies, cookies, scones, lime bars and pies. The cafe downstairs, Cravings, kindly donated coffee to go with the food and some of our Swiss students brought in Swiss chocolate to sell (they told other students it was the best chocolate in the world although we think our Belgian students disagree). Our bake-sale stall proved very popular with students, especially during break time, and we raised $179. In total, ELC Los Angeles has raised $265. All the food was delicious and we have to say a big thank you to everyone at the school for participating, by baking or buying or both!
