Wheelock College Boston, MA (June 24th - August 12th). We are looking for enthusiastic employees who want to gain valuable experience in international education. The positions we are hiring for are below. We can expand on each position with enquiry. Campus Director
The Campus Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Junior Program operations and sets the standard for enthusiasm and professionalism, continuously reinforcing high ELC standards of service to agents, students, and other staff. The Campus Director reports to the Junior Programs Coordinator on a regular basis and is akin to a "principal" or "headmaster" of a school - ensuring that the four areas of the Program - courses, residence life, activities, student services - work together to create a strong program for students. This is a live-in position.
* The Ideal Candidate: A seasoned teacher or someone who has ample experience in the classroom and has demonstrated flexibility and discipline when it comes to dealing with students. Someone who has demonstrated experience leading a group of employees and can be enthusiastic and professional.
Resident Director
The Resident Director is the primary director for all Resident Counselors and students. The major focus of this position is to establish and enforce the rules and regulations of ELC and the college campus. The Resident Director must form a good working relationship with the university or college residence life or conference services staff, as the RD will be ELC’s primary contact with this staff. The daily role of the Residential Director includes supervision of Resident Counselors (RC) in their capacity as residential staff. Resident Directors also assign students to rooms and create roommate combinations at all campuses except UCLA.
* The Ideal Candidate: An enthusiastic person excited to work with youth and act as/provide a strong role model to students. This person will be the first contact when it comes to student discipline, so should have a good presence with young people. Demonstrated camp experience or residential experience is a plus.
Resident Counselor
Resident Counselors serve as the primary supervision for students while in the residence or on activities and report to both the Resident Director and Activities Director or Assistant and have two major responsibilities: 1) Residential duties supervising students in the dormitory, 2) Leading and supervising student activities during afternoons and weekends. They are enthusiastic and resourceful leaders who look forward to working with teen-aged international students. This is a residential position.
Full-Time Positions (Monday - Friday)
Student Services Coordinator
The Junior Program Student Services Coordinator (SSC) works with the Director(s) to ensure a smooth and positive summer experience for all students and ensures that all student needs are accommodated, and all student requests are heard. He/she will be the students’ point of contact with the administrative office and the first person they see as they enter. The main responsibility of the Student Services Coordinator is to manage student paperwork, handle monies and student requests, coordinate the social media accounts of the campuses, and serve as an administrative assistant to the Administrative Director.
* The Ideal Candidate: Someone who is excited about working "backstage" at a school, especially as it related to organizing student paperwork. This person should have experience in student management, database management, and Google applications.
Part-Time Positions (Friday and Sunday off)
Student Services Assistant
The Junior Program Student Services Assistant (SSA) works under the supervision of the Campus Program Director to ensure a smooth and positive summer experience for all students. The Director of the Program will guide and oversee the work of the SSA. He/she will be the students’ point of contact with the administrative office and the first person they see as they enter. The main responsibility of the Student Services Assistant is to manage student paperwork, handle monies and student requests, coordinate the social media accounts of the campuses, and serve as an administrative assistant.
* The Ideal Candidate: Someone who is excited about working "backstage" at a school, especially as it related to organizing student paperwork. This person should have experience in student management, database management, and Google applications.
ESL Teachers (Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 12:40 PM)
* The Ideal Candidate: Someone who has experience teaching ESL preferably to students ranging in age from 11- 17 years old.

Assistant Director
The Assistant Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the junior program operations and sets the standard for enthusiasm and professionalism alongside the Campus Director, who serves as their immediate supervisor. The Assistant Director serves a "traffic cop" of sorts on the busiest days of the program, with work focusing on two vital parts of Junior Program operations - Airport Pickups and Housing. The Assistant Director communicates with staff on Airport-Pickup days, during which hundreds of students will be transported to and from the program. He/she also serves as the primary contact for the housing office at UCLA. This is a live-in position.
* The Ideal Candidate: Someone who is excited about working "backstage" at a school, guiding employees and managing information. While the emphasis of this job is operational, the Assistant Director should all the while still have experience with students, especially with regards to discipline and student management.
Activities Director
The Activities Director works under the supervision of the Campus Program Director to ensure orderly and safe coordination and execution of afternoon and evening activities, and weekend excursions. This includes all points of activity and excursion organization, as well as supervision of Resident Counselors in their capacity as activity leaders. Responsible of marketing/promoting optional activities to students, advertising available opportunities, generating enthusiasm among students so that they participate in optional activities.They will also be the primary point of contact for local information for all students and staff members and have a part-time assistant.
* The Ideal Candidate: Someone who has a keen knowledge of Los Angeles and demonstrated event planning experience. This person will also be in charge of budgeting for activities, so can suggest fun and cost-efficient activities for students. Demonstrated event-planning experience or budgeting experience, like in a college club or association, is a plus.

Resident Teaching Counselors serve as a Grammar Teacher for "A Block"- an 80 minute session from 9:00 to 10:20 - should the program grow to more than 70 students in a given week. They serve as the primary supervision for students while in the residence or on activities when not in the classroom and report to both the Resident Director, Activities Director or Assistant, and Head Teacher with regards to three major responsibilities: 1) Residential duties supervising students in the dormitory, 2) Leading and supervising student activities during afternoons and weekends, and 3) Teaching "A"block. They are enthusiastic and resourceful leaders who look forward to working with teen-aged international students. This is a residential position.
* The Ideal Candidate: Someone who wants to work directly with students but also wants to exercise their skills teaching ESL.
