Alberto is from Brazil and has been studying with ELC for 40 weeks and has developed excellent English speaking skills! He describes himself as honest, hard working, and “mad chill.” A fun fact about him is that he loves tattoos and has 6 of them! Let’s find out a little bit more about Alberto!
I was raised in Santos, San Paulo Brazil. It’s kind of like a Brazilian San Diego.
I want to have more of an American accent.
No, I left Brazil at 15 for Minnesota because that’s where my sister lived. I stayed there for only a year because I didn’t like it in Minnesota. It was too cold! Then I moved to Orlando, Florida for my freshman year of high school with my family. I liked living in Orlando more because it’s hot there like it is in Brazil. I lived there for 6 years but left because they don’t have a good electronic music scene. I chose to move to Los Angeles because of the amazing music scene here.
I went to a Christian school in Florida and people there were more conservative. In Brazil, people are more fun loving and relaxed. Hollywood was also a lot different than what I expected it to be.
The food! Brazilian BBQ is my favorite. They have it in the United States but it’s not the same.
Skateboarding, making music, or playing video games. I just do normal things people my age do.
I find really cool music thanks to Shazam. Good music will be on the radio but I don’t know what it’s called so I use Shazam to find the names of the songs.
I would say try to hang out with people from other countries and cultures. Also, watch Netflix in English and listen to American music. Doing all of those things has helped me improve my English.
The Grove because it’s relaxing and many shops to choose from. I love Harry Potter so I enjoy going to Universal Studios because of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
I love Chipotle burritos and always pay for the extra guacamole!
I’m not picky but if I had to choose it would be Italian food
I enjoyed presentations in class the most during classes at ELC.
I might go back to college for music production but if not I want to continue to work on my music career.
