Tania is from Brazil and is studying at ELC Los Angeles for 48 weeks in our Semi-Intensive Plus Course. She and her husband, Gui, have been at ELC since October 2017 and are having a great time! She loves her six cats and one dog and getting to know LA. Find out some more interesting things about her below:
Where were you born and raised?
I was born and used to live in Curitiba, in southern Brazil, until I moved here. My city is formed mostly by Polish, Ukrainian and Italian immigrants. Curitiba is a gray, cold and rainy city.
What do you do for fun? What are your hobbies?
I love to stay in my house with my husband and my pets and watch movies and series. My hobbies are traveling and working out like kickboxing, metcon…
What is your special talent?
I love to cook.
What is your profession? What do you like about it?
My husband and I had one of the largest internet companies in Brazil, which we sold in 2016.
Tell us about your family, do you have kids? Siblings? Pets? Do they live close to you?
I am married and have five Cornish Rex cats, one sphynx cat and one chihuahua.
Why did you choose to study English in Los Angeles? Did you consider other options?
The weather in Los Angeles is the best for me, the city is safe, and there are many options for fun.
What are all the ways that LA is different than your city/town?
What were you most surprised to learn about Los Angeles?
The people are more friendly than in my city.
What do you miss most about your country?
My family and my friends.
What are your top three favorite places in LA?
The Staples Center, the Getty Center, and the Griffith Observatory.
Where have you found the best food from your country in LA?
My favorite restaurant is Ive’s Beverly Hills, but the best Brazilian food can be found at Fogo de Chao.
