Onur is from Turkey, and studied at ELC Los Angeles for eight weeks in our Semi-Intensive Plus Course. Onur is an excellent student who likes to participate in school activities. He made many friends being here and enjoyed spending his free time with them. Onur liked to try new restaurants and appreciated the diverse options in the Westwood area.
What is your special talent?
Onur’s special talent is his humor. He can make people laugh and his friends can agree that he is funny with a good sense of humor. His friends rate him a 9 out of 10 on the funny scale and we all know “Not anyone can make everyone laugh”.
Why did you choose to study English in Los Angeles? Did you consider other options?
He was going to move to London. But, for his business and his project, Los Angeles was a better option because of it’s multicultural environment. As opposed to London he feels it is more conservative and closed in. Also, does not like the overcast year-round weather in London. He prefers LA weather.
What do you miss most about your country?
Onur’s home country is in Istanbul, Turkey. What he misses most about his home is the food. He has tried Turkish food here in Los Angeles but doesn’t like it because it isn’t the same as his mother home cooking.
What are your top three favorite places in Los Angeles?
A favorite activity at ELC?
Onur’s favorite activity was when he took his elective surfing course. It was memorable to him because he remembers laughing a lot that day.
What are your plans after ELC?
He is preparing to take his TOEFL and IELTS test and is looking forward to taking those exams upon completing his courses. Onur will look to enroll in construction management courses.
