Samuel Sitolini Cano is an old soul of only 22 years from Brazil. He studied at ELC Santa Barbara for 12 weeks. Samuel is ELC’s gentle giant and made friends wherever he went. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and took every opportunity he could to experience new adventures. Learn more about Samuel here!
No. I have been here two other times: last year and six years ago. In both situations I was here for one month.
I was surprised that the food is so fried. People follow the rules more here than in Brazil (like drinking). In Brazil, we have confidence to break the rules while driving.
I miss my family and friends, and also my freedom to do some things. Here, it’s really hard to do certain things.
I like to go out with friends, play racquetball with my uncle, play basketball, barbecue, and play soccer. I also like baking carrot cakes. ☺ I baked one for the ELC potluck one time.
I like to read and watch Netflix. I also like to do some sports.
Yes. My suggestion is for that person to live their life in English, not just in school, but also all the time and places you go while you are in the United States.
My favorite places are the first restaurant on the pier, La Brezza (hanging out with students), Wildcat Lounge, the ice skating rink, and Edo’s for food and drinks.
My favorite moments in ELC were during the potlucks. My favorite moments in Santa Barbara were hiking at Tangerine Falls and Lizard’s Mouth. My favorite moments outside of Santa Barbara were travelling around California. I love California. I haven’t been to other states.
