Since 1978, the English Language Center (ELC) has offered year-round quality English language courses to students from all over the world. ELC English language schools are located in the best areas of Los Angeles, Boston, and Santa Barbara. During the summer, ELC offers a Summer Junior Program on campus at UCLA, MIT, UCSB, and Wheelock College. During the winter, ELC offers a Winter Junior Program in Los Angeles, Boston, and Santa Barbara.
ELC offers a variety of English language courses. Our most popular General English courses are Intensive English, Semi-Intensive Plus English, and Semi-Intensive English. Students planning to attend university in the United States can choose one of our Academic Programs, which include the University Pathways Program, Academic Year Program, and Academic Semester Program for long- term intensive English study. ELC’s academic programs allow students to combine long-term General English classes with TOEFL, IELTS, or Cambridge preparation classes. For business professionals, ELC also offers a full range of business English courses at its Boston school. ELC also offers 50+ and English Plus Programs at all three schools.
ELC can arrange quality housing for students. Each ELC language school has a full-time housing coordinator to help find students the perfect American homestay. ELC housing coordinators can also arrange housing in apartments, student residences, and other accommodations.
ELC is accredited by ACCET and by the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to issue the SEVIS Form I-20, which is a requirement for the F-1 student visa. In addition, ELC maintains memberships in IALC, EnglishUSA, NAFSA, and ALTO.
ELC Los Angeles and ELC Santa Barbara are approved by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE).
