Adult Summer Campus Program at UCLA​ (Los Angeles)

Live on campus at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and study English with English Language Center (ELC) at our UCLA Adult Summer Campus Program. Our program is offered during the summer months of July and August and allows students to combine living in a UCLA dormitory accommodation with one of our General English or Test Preparation Courses. Students attend morning ELC English classes Monday through Friday on campus in UCLA classrooms. This is the perfect way to improve your English skills and have an authentic UCLA experience. Students enrolled in the Semi-Intensive Course take their classes on campus. Students wishing to also study in the afternoon may take their classes at the ELC Los Angeles center. Afternoon group activities are also available at the ELC Los Angeles school.

Note: Students with afternoon classes will attend those classes at the main ELC location.

  • 50 minutes per lesson duration
  • 9-10 students
  • Average class size: Maximum 12 students (14 during July and August only)
  • Level requirements: Low beginner to proficiency (12 levels including beginner, intermediate, advanced and proficiency)
  • Course options: General English courses, TOEFL Preparation Course (Classes held at main ELC Center), English Plus Programs.
  • Number of lessons (per week): 30, 24, or 20 lessons per week
  • Age: Minimum of 17 years old
  • Start dates: Every Monday between June 29, 2026 – August 3, 2026
  • Duration: Minimum of 1 week
  • Note: Students with afternoon classes may need to attend those classes at the main ELC location.

UCLA is a top-tier, world-famous American research university with unparalleled undergraduate and graduate schools, and is currently ranked second among the best public universities in U.S. News & World Report’s 2015 rankings. The university is located in Los Angeles, California, in trendy Westwood Village, close to many restaurants, cafes, and shops. The nearly 500-acre tree-lined campus has its own sports stadium, tennis center, medical center and state-of the art buildings and facilities. Our program gives students the opportunity to experience life as an American college student by living on campus in a dormitory at UCLA, while studying English with ELC. Students live in a UCLA dormitory close to swimming pools, basketball courts, tennis courts, outdoor fields and a fitness center. Students also have access to the UCLA Ackerman student center and the UCLA student bookstore. They are placed in rooms with other international students that come from more than 20 different countries. ELC support staff live on campus with students to provide students with information and assist them with their needs.

  • Dormitory – Dykstra Residence Hall, located on the UCLA campus
  • Arrival on Saturday before the course; departure on Saturday after the course
  • Shared (double), rooms furnished with closets, desks, and beds, maid service provided weekly, laundry facilities available on each dormitory floor

  • Average commute: 10-minute walk to ELC classrooms located on the UCLA campus, 25-minute walk to ELC’s main campus in Westwood Village or a short bus ride
